Scholarships for Master Programs
Penglai Scholarships
The Penglai Scholarships allow two students or young professionals to pursue a one-year advanced master programme at the WTI. The Penglai Scholarships are funded by the Permanent Mission to the WTO of the Separate Customs Territory of Taiwan, Penghu, Kinmen and Matsu. One of the Penglai Scholarships will be awarded to a national of Taiwan, and one will be awarded to a national of a lower-income developing country.
The Executive Committee of the GIA will decide on the award of the Penglai Scholarships on the advice of the Penglai Scholarship Committee.
A Penglai Scholarship covers the registration and tuition fees for the MILE or TRAIL+ programme, living expenses in Bern and travel expenses to and from Bern. The student shall receive a monthly allowance of CHF 1’500 to cover living expenses in Bern for maximum 11 months. In case the student takes the MILE or TRAIL+ programme (or part thereof) online, an appropriate arrangement regarding living expenses in his/her place of residence may be agreed upon. The travel expenses covered shall be limited to one economy class journey to and from Bern.
The recipient of a Penglai Scholarship shall maintain a minimum average grade of 5 during each of the two semesters of instruction of the MILE or TRAIL+ programme. Failure to keep this average grade may result in the withdrawal of the Penglai Scholarship. The recipient of a Penglai Scholarship shall also be involved in scientific research conducted at the WTI.
When you apply for one of the Penglai Scholarships please also submit your acceptance letter from the WTI, your CV and a motivation letter with your application. The final date for applications for a Penglai Scholarship is 31 April 2023. Applications must be e-mailed to info@global-impact-association.org. Patricia Murillo Montesdeoca Scholarship
The Patricia Murillo Montesdeoca (PMM) Scholarship is a privately funded scholarship, which allows each year one student or young professional to pursue a one-year advanced master programme at the WTI. The scholarship is in memory of the late Patricia Murillo Montesdeoca, a Falun Gong practitioner and human rights activist from Guayaquil, Ecuador.
In awarding the PMM Scholarship, preference will be given to female students from Latin America. The Executive Committee of the GIA will decide on the award of the PMM Scholarship on the advice of the PMM Scholarship Committee.
